Each faction has two defense turrets (3 for Soviets) that are used a lot on this game. In Allies or Soviets matches they are a must, they can provide a good defense or even be used in an attack force when turret crawling.

One of the most popular defenses in the game. The famous instant pop-up turret is used to kill both infantry and tanks. It’s hard to evict them since they can be placed next to enemy units, doing a lot of damage until they get out of range. It can also be used to kill aircraft, but if you want to take down Vindicators you will need to have at least 3 turrets. As the Allies Construction Yard has a very large building radius, some players use it to put the Multigunner inside the enemy base, doing a lot of damage.

The standard weapon does a good damage against every unit, it kills Hammer Tanks in 12 seconds and a Peacekeeper or Flak Trooper in less than 2 seconds (2 volleys). However, you can have another weapon by garrisoning an infantry inside it like the Multigunner IFV. By garrisoning an Peacekeeper your turret will kill any basic infantry in less than one second. The disadvantage is that the damage against vehicles is almost zero. The Javelin weapon is fail, there’s a 4 seconds delay between each volley and the DPS will be reduced almost 50%. This number is even higher if you consider an infantry unit. The engineer will provide a repair gun, which is 50% faster than the drones in the War Factory. Spy and Tanya turrets provides a sniper gun. There’s no necessity to tell about all combinations, they are the same as the IFV Combos, except the majority are amplified in range and damage.

This machine gun has less life than the Multigunner Turret (37.5% less) but deals with infantry much better than the Multigunner Turret, killing any infantry in less than 1 second and having no attack delay. It also destroys light vehicles (Sickles, Multigunner IFVs, etc.) much faster. The “weaker side” is against heavy tanks, it needs 17 seconds to destroy a Hammer Tank. Another thing that makes it less used is that you need to place the gun before the 20 seconds, during this time it can be attacked and even destroyed, and mainly, you can’t make a surprise to your opponent! Lots of Soviets players like to use them to protect the Ore Collectors, it’s not a bad idea and will stop any ground harrasment (Sickles, Terror Drones, Mecha Tengus, etc.) very fast.
